CareerWise is always on the lookout for the latest reports related to career development. Here are three reports that we found interesting this week:

The Role of Career Education on High School Students’ Education Choices and Post-secondary Outcomes (SRDC)

This CERIC-supported research from the Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (SRDC) finds evidence to support that career education in high school changes students’ career choices and pathways. The analysis equips the career counselling profession to respond authoritatively to increasingly urgent policy questions about how optimally to structure career education for young people.

The Rebuild: Going Digital and the Role of Canadian Telecom in a Post-COVID Future (ICTC)

As Canadians increasingly move toward consuming more services online, working remotely and adopting emerging technologies highly dependent on data, it is important that Canada’s telecommunications infrastructure is affordable, accessible and up to date. Gaps persist in access across provinces, most starkly between rural and urban communities.

The Long-term Labour Market Integration of Refugee Claimants Who Became Permanent Residents in Canada (Statistics Canada)

This study compares the long-term labour market outcomes of refugee claimants who eventually became permanent residents in Canada with those of government-assisted refugees and privately sponsored refugees, as well as with refugee claimants who did not become permanent residents in Canada.
