CareerWise is always on the lookout for the latest reports related to career development. Here are several reports that we found interesting this week.

Labour Force Survey, August 2023 (Statistics Canada)

Employment rose by 40,000 (+0.2%) in August, and the employment rate fell 0.1 percentage points to 61.9%. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.5%, following three consecutive monthly increases in May, June and July.

Automation Nation? AI Adoption in Canadian Businesses (The Dais)

This study examines how Canadian businesses are adopting artificial intelligence – how prevalent its use is, how it is being deployed and what barriers exist to prevent further adoption.

Inequities persist: Extracurriculars, clubs, activities, and fundraising in Ontario’s publicly funded schools (People for Education)

This reports show that while most extracurricular activities and broader learning opportunities in Ontario schools have resumed since being paused during the pandemic, students’ access varies substantially depending on where they live.
