Out On Bay Street 2023
Sept. 15-16 | Toronto
Canada’s premier 2SLGBTQIA+ student-employer engagement conference will be back in Toronto on Sept. 15 and 16. Keynote speakers include former Ontario premier Kathleen Wynne.
Global Apprenticeship Summit
Sept. 28 | Ottawa
The Canadian Apprenticeship Summit brings together both Canadian and international apprenticeship stakeholders for a one-day event covering a variety of topics including employer engagement, EDI and innovation. Participants will have the opportunity to join panel discussions as well as breakout discussion groups.
EDAC 2023 (Economic Developers Association of Canada)
Sept. 30 – Oct. 3 | Summerside, PEI
The EDAC conference will only be held in person this year. Check back on the website for the finalized agenda. Listed sessions include “Reconciling Indigenous Labour Market Intelligence” and “Workforce Data: Discussing the Pros and Cons from Three Completely Different Perspectives.”

Talent Connect (LinkedIn)
Oct. 3-4 | Virtual and in-person in New York City
The in-person portion of Talent Connect, which will be hosting an exclusive, invite only event for senior business leaders. The virtual portion of the event is a two-day global broadcast designed for professionals in talent acquisition, recruitment, learning & development, employee experience and EDI. The themes for both events are Hiring and Attracting, Career Development, Skills-First and Future of HR.
OSCA Conference (Ontario School Counsellors’ Association)
Oct. 16 | Mississauga, ON
The Ontario School Counsellors’ Association will be holding its conference this October, returning in-person for the first time since 2019. The conference will welcome guidance counsellors and career educators to explore the theme of “Come Back to Get Ahead.”
Gartner ReimagineHR Conference
Oct. 23-25 | Orlando, FL
HR officers and leaders will have the opportunity to explore emerging ideas and insights on how to harness and unlock new potentials of human performance. Learning streams include talent management, recruitment, and equity, diversity and inclusion.
CPHR Manitoba HR Conference 2023
Oct. 24-25 | Winnipeg, MB
This year’s CPHR Manitoba conference is all about what makes work great, with the theme “Working Loud & Proud – Empowering our Workforce.” The theme will focus on employee engagement while celebrating achievements and recognizing the value of HR.
Reimagining Rural Economic Development: Cooperation & the Future of Our Communities Conference (Canadian CED Network)
Oct. 25-26 | Camrose, AB
The Reimagining Rural Economic Development Conference, hosted by the Alberta Centre for Sustainable Rural Communities, is aimed at rural community leaders, councillors, economic development and planning officers and rural residents. Speakers will include entrepreneurs, co-operative developers and academics from across North America. Registration has closed for this conference but there is a waitlist.
2023 Futures Workforce Development Conference (First Work)
Oct. 25-27 | Blue Mountain Resort, Collingwood ON
Registration is now open for Futures – Ontario’s largest annual workforce development conference. Hosted by First Work, an organization that brings together various interest groups to advance solutions for youth employment, Futures attracts hundreds of professionals from across Canada.

ASPECT BC Conference (Association of Service Providers for Employability and Career Training)
Nov. 2-3 | Victoria
ASPECT BC will be hosting its 33rd annual conference this November, which will include content for frontline workers, career developers, and organizational managers and leaders. A pre-conference workshop will be held on Nov. 1 on “Mental Health Strategies for CDPs.”
Institute for Performance and Learning (I4PL) 2023 Conference
Nov. 2-3 | Toronto
On the theme of “Rekindling the Era of Agility,” the I4PL conference will explore crucial topics in learning and development. The conference will delve into technology’s role in supporting an agile workforce, while discussions will encompass mental health, work/life balance and social learning.
HEQCO Conference (Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario)
Nov. 3 | Toronto
HEQCO will be hosting its 9th annual conference. The one-day, in-person event, “Access Reboot: New Directions for Higher Education,” will share best practices, develop ideas and challenge traditional approaches in the post-secondary education system.
Let’s Get to Work (Manitoba Association of Career Development)

“Let’s Get to Work” is Manitoba’s premier conference for career development professionals. The keynote speaker will be Lisa Taylor – an author, entrepreneur, consultant, futurist, and community leader focused on making sense of the changing world of work.
SEMM Forum (Brainstorm Strategy Group)

Professionals involved in attracting or engaging students in their post-secondary experience in Canada will want to attend the SEMM forum – Canada’s largest event for post-secondary marketing, recruitment, student success and enrolment management. Registration is now open.
2023 CAEL Annual Conference (Council for Adult and Experiential Learning)

The 49th annual CAEL conference is a unique opportunity to network and learn from educators, employers and community leaders focused on aligning learning and work focused on post-secondary education, workforce and economic development, and industry.
Rethinking Disability Conference 2023 (Ontario Disability Employment Network)
Nov. 13-15 | Toronto
Designed for employment-service agencies and businesses, this conference from ODEN seeks to enhance professional development, increase capacity, and teach new skills in services and inclusive-hiring processes. The Business Sector Stream aims to help businesses and employers to develop disability awareness, learn from other businesses and meet employment service providers.
CWCF Conference 2023 (The Canadian Worker Co-op Federation)
Nov. 14-16 | Quebec City
The CWCF is a membership organization of and for worker co-operatives and organizations that support the growth and development of worker co-operatives. This year’s Worker Co-operative Conference is under the banner of “Stronger Together.”
2023 CES Conference (Career Education Society)
Nov. 20-21 | Vancouver
CES is an organization that includes leaders in education, business, industry, labour and government who work together to champion career and learning management. Participants will have the opportunity to attend a keynote speech by Anne Tenning (FNESC), several workshops and a networking reception.
Indigenomics Bay Street (Indigenomics Institute)

This conference will explore key themes of Indigenous economic strength, successful partnerships, leadership in economic reconciliation, outcomes in the Indigenous economy and value creation in the $100-billion Indigenous economy.
The Art of Leadership Summit

To be held in three cities across Canada, the Art of Leadership Summit brings together thought leaders to inspire action. The conference will convene like-minded people in an environment that will expose them to new ways of thinking, sparking creativity to re-energize their corporate culture.
NBCDA ANNUAL Conference (New Brunswick Career Development Association)

The NBCDA is a non-profit partnership organization committed to career development in New Brunswick. It will be holding its annual conference this November in Moncton, which will feature keynotes from Tareq Hadhad, Carol Allain and Stephanie Francis.
Disability and Work in Canada 2023 Conference (Centre for Research on Work Disability Policy)

The theme for this year’s conference is “Livelihoods and influencing the future of work for people with disabilities: A focus on rights, and quality of life.” This theme was chosen due to widespread support for moving beyond initial employment of persons with disabilities and ensuring true full inclusion and support for career advancement and a good quality of life.
2023 IVETA North America Regional Conference (International Vocational Education and Training Association)

IVETA’s 2023 North America Regional Conference will be held in conjunction with the annual US Association for Career & Technical Education (ACTE) Conference. The theme for this year’s conference is TVET’s role as a full partner in workforce development to support economic development, and employment generation for general and at-risk populations.
