Widespread school closures affected over one billion students during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The vocational education and training (VET) sector has faced particular challenges during the crisis, most notably the fact that digital learning environments don’t work as well for practice-oriented learning as they do for academic learning.

With the vaccine rollout well under way, organizations are beginning to make decisions about a return to work. Only 6% of surveyed employers are planning to bring their entire workforce back to the office. The majority plan to offer hybrid or remote work to at least some employees post-vaccine rollout.
