CareerWise is always on the lookout for the latest reports related to career development. Here are three reports that we found interesting this week.

The Status of Microcredentials in Canadian Colleges and Institutes: Environmental Scan Report (CICan)

Based on an environmental scan of micro-credentials and a survey of colleges and institutes, this report shows how these flexible and accessible learning options are gaining ground across the country. It found great interest in micro-credentials across Canada and a degree of agreement on their purpose, characteristics and value.

Global Gender Gap Report 2021 (World Economic Forum)

As the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be felt, closing the global gender gap has increased by a generation from 99.5 years to 135.6 years, WEF finds.

Taking Stock of Canada’s Superclusters (Brookfield Institute)

Canada’s five Superclusters – Digital Technology, Protein Industries Canada, Next Generation Manufacturing, Scale Artificial Intelligence and Ocean – were announced in 2018 with a five-year government investment of $950 million. The Superclusters have been slower than anticipated to hit their stride, and their individual performance and challenges have varied.
