Candace Stewart-Smith is the Director, Centre for Experiential and Career Education at UFV and is a licensed RISIA college-ic.ca/become-licensed/about-rcics-and-risias). Candace has worked for several years in post-secondary international student support and career and experiential education. Her passion is helping students make meaning of their experiences as part of their career development process. | Adrian Bontuyan is an Academic Advisor at UFV. He is passionate about helping newcomer students navigate challenges in adjusting to new academic systems, work environments, and diverse cultures. He holds an MA in Counselling from the Philippines, has training in career and international advising, and is a licensed RISIA. | At UFV, we have established a working group of Career Educators, Academic Advisors, Immigration Advisors and Recruitment Managers who are licensed RISIAs and RCICs. The group uses a Student Ready approach to holistically support students and the university in understanding and navigating IRCC policy.
