These associations offer resources, professional development and networking opportunities for people working in education and career-related learning, from those advocating for adult learners to work-integrated learning proponents. They are open to members across Canada.
Canadian Association for Prior Learning Assessment (CAPLA)
CAPLA is the national voice for the recognition of prior learning in Canada. Its members include adult learners, PLAR practitioners, researchers, employers, labour, academic and training institutions, government, occupational bodies, settlement and integration organizations, NGOs and industry councils.
Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE)
CACEE is a national non-profit partnership of employer recruiters and career services professionals. Its mission is to provide professional networking and development opportunities, information, advice and other services to employers and career service professionals.
Canadian Association of College and University Student Services (CACUSS)
CACUSS is a professional bilingual association representing and serving those individuals who work in Canadian post-secondary institutions in student affairs and services. CACUSS hosts an annual conference, provides workshops, publishes a magazine for student services professionals and more.
Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT)
CAUT is the national voice for academic staff representing 72,000 teachers, librarians, researchers, general staff and other academic professionals at some 125 universities and colleges across the country. It works to improve the quality and accessibility of post-secondary education in Canada.
Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE)
The Canadian Society for the Study of Education is the largest organization of professors, students, researchers and practitioners in education in Canada. CSSE is the major national voice for those who create educational knowledge, prepare teachers and educational leaders, and apply research in the schools, classrooms and institutions of Canada.
Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL)
CEWIL partners with post-secondary institutions, community members, employers, government, and students to champion work-integrated learning (WIL). CEWIL maintains a national database on WIL with data from more than 50 post-secondary member institutions.
Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan)
CICan serves as the national and international voice of Canada’s largest post-secondary education network, engaging in advocacy, providing programs and offering leadership and mentorship programs. Its work supports Canada’s publicly supported colleges, institutes, CEGEPs and polytechnics.
EdCan Network
The EdCan Network is a bilingual organization that connects K-12 education professionals and researchers across Canada. Its members comprise school districts, organizations and institutions across Canada, along with their staff, employees and students.
