Prince Edward Island
Career Development Association of PEI
The Career Development Association of PEI is a network of career professionals, career influencers, community partners, post-secondary institutions and individuals committed to providing leadership to strengthen career development programs and initiatives on PEI.
Prince Edward Island Counselling Association (PEICA)
The Prince Edward Island Counselling Association (PEICA) promotes networking and professional opportunities for counsellors in PEI. It is affiliated with the national Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
New Brunswick
New Brunswick Career Development Association (NBCDA)
The NBCDA plays a leadership role in the career development field by encouraging co-operation, networking and information-sharing amongst its members and other groups. It hosts an annual career development conference.
Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia Career Development Association (NSCDA)
The NSCDA supports a vibrant community of over 800 career development professionals in Nova Scotia. It provides in-person and virtual professional development, including an annual conference, and has offered provincial certification for the Certified Career Development Practitioner designation.
Nova Scotia School Counsellors Association (NSSCA)
The website for the NSSCA does not appear to be recently updated and little information is available. However, the association appears to have hosted a conference in 2023.
Newfoundland and Labrador
Newfoundland and Labrador Counsellors’ and Psychologists’ Association (NLCPA)
The NLCPA is a special interest council of the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association. It aims to act as a voice for counsellors and psychologists in Newfoundland and Labrador in matters relating to training, certification, promotion of high standards of professional competency, improvement of counselling and psychological services.
Community Employment Collaboration
While Community Employment Collaboration does not have a membership structure, it does offer resources, ongoing networking events and opportunities for more substantial involvement through participation in its Working Groups. It also provides the “Career Development Practitioner (CDP) home base,” which aims to support the professional development of CDPs.
