CPC is offering the following courses this fall:

Canadian Association for Supported Employment

This fall, professionals can access the following courses through CASE:

  • Supported Employment Essentials: refine your understanding of supported employment to benefit both work-seeking individuals and employers or contractors (Sept. 5 – Oct. 30)
  • Job Development Training: learn to connect jobseekers with the right employers, develop meaningful job opportunities and find solutions to modern business concerns (Sept. 12 – Nov. 6; Oct. 24 – Dec. 18)
  • Solution-Focused Career Practitioner: this program fosters a foundational understanding of the solution-focused approach while applying a framework of tools and techniques that align with the employment journey (Oct. 24 – Nov. 27)
Life Strategies

Life Strategies is offering the following courses this fall, which can contribute toward certification in its Career Management Professional Program:

Practical Applications of Motivational Interviewing Part 2 (First Work)

Sept. 8 & 15

Motivational Interviewing is a client-centred, evidence-based counselling approach to working with clients ambivalent about making a change. This session builds on the concepts, techniques and strategies covered in Part 1 of this training with new case studies and more opportunity for reflective practice and application.

Therapy Online
  • Cybercounselling Level I: This three-micro-credential online course is for counselling practitioners who want to provide professional and ethical online services, including video counselling, chat counselling and email counselling. (Sept. 9 – Dec. 15)
  • Cybercounselling Level II: This three-module course is designed for counselling practitioners who have completed Cybercounselling Level I and want to deepen and refine their cybercounselling expertise. (Sept. 9 – Dec. 15)
  • Foundations of Cybercounselling: Offered in collaboration with the University of Toronto, this eight-week online course covers theories and research in online counselling as well as introduces participants to some of the practical aspects of doing counselling online. (Oct. 3 – Nov. 28)

OneLifeTools is offering the following courses this fall:

Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE)

CACEE’s Career Educator Certificate Program comprises six modules, which are being offered on the following dates this fall:

  • The Foundations of Career Education (Oct. 13)

  • Work Integrated Learning and Experiential Education ( 26)

MBTI® Certification Program (Psychometrics)

Oct. 17-20 | Nov. 28 ­– Dec. 1

This four-day program prepares participants to successfully administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. It includes video conference sessions, group activities as well as self-directed learning assignments. Topics include: improving team performance; developing leaders; managing conflict; improving communication; handling stress; and guiding career exploration.

Ontario School Counsellors’ Association

Fall registration opens Aug. 22

This fall, OSCA will be offering Additional Qualification (AQ) courses in Guidance and Career Education Parts I, II and Specialist (Part III).

  • AQ Parts 1 & 2: This online, interactive course is user friendly and allows real-time practice of the skills needed for the effective counsellor.
  • AQ Part 3: This course is focused on the counsellor as a school leader and agent of change within the educational environment.
