Laurie Beckstead

Laurie Beckstead is the Director of the Trades Talent Link project, funded by the IRCC, at the YMCA-YWCA of the National Capital Region. Trades Talent Link is a primary research project examining the skills gaps that exist between newcomers and skilled trades employers. As a long-time advocate for careers in the skilled trades, Beckstead has practical experience in the residential construction industry, as well as teaching in trades diploma and certificate programs at the post-secondary level. She believes that there are good jobs in the trades and takes pleasure in demonstrating this to her clients.
