Emily Ecker, MA Ed, Associate Dean of Community Partnerships and Learning at Mohawk College, is responsible for the effective delivery of Access programming such as Academic Upgrading/Deaf Empowerment, Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC), School College Work Initiative (SCWI) and City School. Establishing strong working relationships with community partners, business and government, Emily has created the opportunity to build accessible and alternative pathways to postsecondary education for underrepresented groups. | Beth Gibson, Manager, Workforce Partnerships at Mohawk College has been described as a passionate Hamiltonian who has dedicated her career to developing and augmenting projects and initiatives that support poverty reduction, access to education, and overall economic development. Beth has spoken at various events and conferences to emphasize the importance of industry-education partnerships on the local, provincial, and national stages. Beth currently sits on the Board of Directors at Mission Services and is an active member of local advisory committees focusing on poverty reduction and workforce development. | Jody L. Brown, BA/BEd, MA, Manager of Community Access, Engagement and Research (CAER) at Mohawk College, has over twenty-five years of experience in the education and social services fields in Canada and internationally. Jody is passionate about fostering individual and community wellbeing through capacity building, collective impact, and social change, and sees intersectoral action as key to addressing issues of unemployment, poverty, and social exclusion. As Manager of CAER, Jody has oversight of City School by Mohawk and is project lead for the Challenge 2025 initiative.
