Winter 2025 conferences for career professionals

Building connections and learning from others are essential to professional growth. Here are several conferences that give career professionals the opportunity to network with peers, share knowledge and gain useful insights for the future.  

CESBA Conference 2024 

Dec. 4-5 | Toronto 

This is run by the Ontario Association of Adult and Continuing Education School Board Administrators. It offers a wide range of professional networking and learning opportunities to inform and inspire exemplary practice in adult and continuing education across Ontario. This year’s theme is Forward Together: Championing Adult Education for the Future! 

Cannexus25 (CERIC) 

Jan. 27-29 | Hybrid – Virtual and In-person in Ottawa 

CERIC’s Cannexus brings together those across the career and workforce development ecosystem to explore research, policy and practice. The conference will examine the impact of career development on education, the economy and social justice. It will feature 100+ sessions both live and on-demand. The keynote speakers are: 

  • Tina Varughese, cross-cultural communication and diversity expert 
  • Dr. Kevin Glavin, licensed professional counsellor and professor at Walden University 
  • Niigaan Sinclair, Indigenous Studies professor and award-winning author 
EDCO Conference and Showcase

Feb. 4-6 | Toronto 

The Economic Developers Council of Ontario’s (EDCO) 68th Annual Conference will explore the pivotal role that collaboration among economic developers will play in building Ontario’s economy. The event promises to provide a space to imagine, create and collaborate with some of the most innovative and strategic minds in the economic development profession. 

QUARIERA 

Feb. 12-14 | Sherbrooke, Quebec 

QUARIERA (pronounced ka-ri-é-ra) is an annual conference organized by AXTRA (Alliance des centres-conseils en emploi). It gathers employment professionals from across Quebec to explore innovative practices in employability and socio-professional integration. Attendees can learn from experts, practitioners and researchers, and benefit from unique networking opportunities. 

The Forum – National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) 

March 29-April 1 | Washington, D.C. 

NAWB’s Forum aims to unite workforce thought-leaders, policymakers and stakeholders at a moment of both persisting emergency and transformational potential. Attendees can network and learn from one another on American workforce policy, initiatives and trends.
