Laura Peisley

Laura Peisley began her career in education in 2012 as a PDHPE teacher, spending her first four years delivering an extra-curricular girls well-being program and providing tuition and support to senior school Aboriginal students. In helping Aboriginal students connect with culture through university outreach and career programs and promoting educational post-school pathways and scholarships, Laura developed a passion for the career education space and transitioned to a career adviser role. Having obtained a Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Careers and Transition), Laura worked as a school careers adviser for the NSW Department of Education for six years, connecting and engaging high school students with opportunities in a wide range of career exploration strategies to develop relevant future-focused skills and better inform future career decision-making. The concept 'you can't be what you can't see' prompted creativity and open-mindedness to deliver appropriate career education programs in accordance with labour market data and trends. In 2022, Laura made the move to Year13 to create career education content and further develop the Career Tools product in over 1000 Australian schools. Currently the Career Development Manager for Career Tools, Laura works on a nation-wide scale to engage schools in effective use of Career Tools and influence the career education programs of schools across Australia.
