What We Heard: Identifying Barriers to Indigenous Recruitment and Retention (Government of Yukon)

Indigenous individuals encounter significant barriers when pursuing a career in the Government of Yukon public service, experiencing challenges at every stage of the employment journey, from entry to departure. These barriers are substantiated by testimonies, feedback from current and former Indigenous employees, as well as Indigenous residents of Yukon.

2024 State of the Sector – Policy report (Ontario Nonprofit Network)

ONN’s annual survey aims to better understand how non-profits in Ontario are faring. Survey data is used to help create an enabling public policy environment for non-profits, and to support them in influencing government, funders and the wider public. The sector’s hopefulness and determination in the face of ongoing underfunding is a theme of this year’s report.

A study on the employment and wage outcomes of people with disabilities (International Labour Organization)

The study shows that individuals with disabilities are less likely to participate in the labour market, and that when they do, they face higher unemployment rates, are more likely to be self-employed and tend to earn lower wages. These disparities do not appear to be explained solely by individual characteristics such as educational attainment, experience or occupational category.
