This report finds that international students require a range of supports over and above those originally designed to meet the needs of domestic students. Supports related to housing and transportation, health and well-being, and belonging and safety are needed most urgently.
Racialized Canadians are less likely to find as good jobs as their non-racialized and non-Indigenous counterparts early in their careers (Statistics Canada)
Although racialized people are generally more likely than their non-racialized, non-Indigenous counterparts to earn a bachelor’s degree or higher, they are less likely to find jobs that offer the same pay and benefits in the years following graduation. In particular, two years after graduating, racialized graduates reported lower employment earnings and lower rates of unionization and pension plan coverage.
Ready, Set, Grow: The Building Blocks for High-Impact Talent Mobility (Cornerstone OnDemand)
The 2023 study measured the views of 1,060 employers and 1,000 learners across North America, Europe and Asia about the importance of career mobility and internal growth opportunities. It found that employees’ desires to pivot, grow and stretch within their current companies are on the rise. Talent development and internal mobility are a constant demand from today’s workforce, acting as key contributors to improved engagement and retention.
