Staying apprised of labour marketing information (LMI) is a crucial though sometimes daunting task for professionals working in career development. This article captures only a fraction of the many sources available. By province/territory 
Nunavut 

Labour market snapshots based on Statistics Canada data as well as a guide to in-demand employment prospects in the territory. 

Northwest Territories

Yukon

BC Labour Market Report 

A subscription-based publication that helps career professionals stay up to date on labour market information in British Columbia. Members receive daily news updates, detailed monthly data, podcasts, and more.  

Alberta 

Access Alberta’s LMI resources including wage and salary information, job market forecasts, labour trends and occupational profiles.  

Saskatchewan 

The Government of Saskatchewan’s Labour Market Information site includes statistics, forecasts and regional employment reports.  

Manitoba 

Explore Manitoba LMI by region and industry. Includes occupational forecasts and downloadable publications.  

Ontario 

Search job profiles and access regional labour market reports to learn about work trends and the skills, education and training needed for todays and tomorrow’s jobs

Ontario Labour Market Report 

A membership-based publication dedicated to helping career professionals access current, local and relevant Ontario labour market data.  

Québec 

Emploi-Québec helps you explore trades and occupations, find training programs, learn about specific sectors and connect with employers.  

New Brunswick 

The Government of New Brunswick offers monthly labour market bulletins, hiring demand reports, job market trends and occupational profiles.  

Nova Scotia 

Nova Scotia’s LMI site includes statistics, a searchable LMI database, publications and a Guide to Understanding Labour Market Information.  

Prince Edward Island 

The Employment Journey shares labour market information on PEI industries, from agriculture to education. Explore in-demand skills, monthly LMI updates and career opportunities.  

Newfoundland and Labrador 

The Labour Market Dashboard highlights notable labour market indicators reflecting the current provincial economy. Career profiles and job postings are also available.  

National – Government 
Government of Canada – LMI Explore 

View wages, outlooks and job posting counts for selected occupations in addition to other labour market information across Canada. 

National Occupational Classification (NOC)  

Canada’s national system for describing occupations by skill level and job duties.  

Statistics Canada – Labour Statistics at a Glance  

Check out Labour Statistics at a Glance for short, analytical articles on specific topics of interest related to Canada’s labour market. 

National – Non-government 
Canadian Chamber of Commerce 

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s resources include its Business Data Lab, future-focused, real-time data and insights on market conditions; reports on labour topics such as the energy sector transformation; and webinars that share industry trends. 

Future Skills Centre (FSC) 

FSC regularly publishes reports on the evolving skills of the economy and labour market. It also offers OpportuNext, a free online tool developed with the Conference Board of Canada to help users explore career transition options.  

Labour Market Information Council (LMIC)  

LMIC identifies and implements pan-Canadian priorities for consistent and accessible labour market data. Explore tools like the Canadian Job Trends Dashboard, a Best Practices Guide, and the Now of Work annotated bibliography.
