Finding the right support for your career journey – whether it’s coaching, counselling, employment services or training – often starts with knowing where to look. Across Canada, a range of directories and databases make it easier to connect with qualified career professionals and organizations that offer tailored guidance. Whether you’re seeking one-on-one support from a certified coach, exploring mental health-informed career counselling or accessing community-based employment programs, the following list highlights resources to help individuals identify and reach out to the right career services for their needs. 

Find an employment services centre

211 Services 

211 is a free and confidential helpline and online database available across most of Canada. It connects individuals to community, social, health, government and employment-related services in their area. Each provincial or territorial 211 system has a searchable online directory. 

Government directories 

You may qualify for career supports from a government-funded or supported employment services organization. Check out this national directory of employment centres, or visit these provincial/territorial websites to learn more: 

Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN) 

ODEN is a professional network of employment service providers united to increase employment opportunities for people who have a disability. It offers a directory of its member organizations offering career services in Ontario.  

Find a career coach or counsellor

BC Association of Clinical Counsellors 

Find a Registered Clinical Counsellor to suit your needs. Filter by areas of practice (including “Career & Education”), modalities, identity and more. 

BCCDA – Certified Career Development Practitioners 

The British Columbia Career Development Association (BCCDA) works to advance the practice and professionalism of career practitioners in BC and to promote the highest quality of career development service to the public. It offers a database of Certified Career Development Practitioners. 

Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) 

Professionals in this directory have obtained the Canadian Certified Counsellor designation and are recognized by CCPA as qualified to provide counselling services in Canada. Select “Career Counselling” under the Specialization filter to narrow results.  

Career Certification – Find a CCDP 

This database features nationally Certified Career Development Professionals (CCDPs). Filter results by province/territory or specialty (e.g. disability services, assessment, youth services, etc.).  

Career Professionals of Canada Member Directory 

Search this directory of highly qualified professionals specializing in various areas of career development. Whether you’re looking for career or interview coaching, work-life balance assistance, resume writing expertise, career transition guidance or job search support, you’ll find the experts who can help you achieve your goals. 

CPHR (Chartered Professionals in Human Resources) 

Several provincial chapters of CPHR feature member directories, with the option to select professionals focusing on career development, including: CPHR Alberta, CPHR BC & Yukon, CPHR Manitoba, CPHR Nova Scotia, CPHR Saskatchewan and CRHA. 

ICF (International Coaching Federation) Credentialed Coach Finder 

ICF-credentialed coaches are professional coaches who have met stringent education and experience requirements and have demonstrated a thorough understanding of the coaching competencies that set the standard in the profession. Filter results by location, services provide, credentials, coaching themes and methods, and more

OCCOQ – Directory of members of the Order of Guidance Counselors of Quebec 

The professional order governing guidance counsellors in Quebec. Their directory allows you to search for members by specialization, including career counselling. 

Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals 

This directory is not a full membership list but is an opt-in service for some members who are certified mental health providers. To find a career counsellor, filter Service Type by “Career Counselling.” 

Post-secondary career and alumni services 

While there is no sole source for this, individuals seeking career supports should know that most post-secondary institutions offer career services to existing students. Some also offer career supports to alumni. Visit your institution’s website to learn more. 

Psychology Today – Find a Career Guidance Therapist 

Psychology Today offers a directory of mental health professionals, with a dedicated section for individuals looking for career advice. You can also search by location.  

Ontario CCDP Directory (CDPCBO) 

Career Development Practitioner Certification Board of Ontario (CDPCBO) is a not-for-profit corporation established in 2014 to provide certification to career development practitioners in Ontario. It offers a directory of members.
