Here are courses and workshops, available from December to March, which cover a wide range of topics including leadership, ethical decision-making models and social media strategies.
Additional Qualification Courses in Guidance and Career Education (OSCA)
Jan. 13 – March 7
This three-part training will equip participants with the necessary practices for delivering a comprehensive guidance and career education program and deepen their expertise and leadership capabilities. Part 3 is focused on the counsellor as a school leader and agent of change within the educational environment.
Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE)

Career Development Practitioners Certification Board of Ontario (CDPCBO)
Career Development Ethics (Dec. 4)
This course provides an overview of the new National Code of Ethics for career development professionals/practitioners, including ethical decision-making models.
Career Development Theory (Dec. 10 and 16)
This course provides an introduction and overview of some of the major schools of thought in career development and transition theories.
Facilitating Career Development Training and Certification Program (NCDA)
Various courses run between Dec. 2 and March 30
This training and certification program is the National Career Development Association’s (NCDA) premiere offering, encompassing all aspects of career development. It equips participants with essential skills to deliver effective career services to diverse individuals and groups.

MBTI® Certification Training Program for Canadians (Psychometrics)
Feb. 24-27
This interactive, four-day program prepares participants to confidently begin using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® to support individuals and groups. During this experiential workshop, learners practice using their own results, learn team activities, coaching methods and facilitation strategies.
Neurodiversity in the Workplace (Nova Scotia Career Development Association)
Feb. 4 or March 17
This in-person workshop is designed to support organizations in their quest to break down stereotypes and challenge biases that are counterproductive to organizational growth and development.
Online storyteller training (OneLifeTools)
Dec. 6
Participants will learn how to use the Online Storyteller tool and Conversation Guide to support clients or students.

Career professional Jim Peacock’s Peak Careers provides professional development for career service providers.

Personality Dimensions Levels I and II
Multiple dates between Dec. 10 and March 28, offered online and in Toronto.
Personality Dimensions Level I equips participants to facilitate personality assessments, covering core theories, ethical considerations and adult learning principles. Level II prepares participants to train other facilitators with advanced teaching and assessment skills.

Therapy Online
Cybercounselling Level I (Jan. 10 – March 21)
This three-micro-credential online course is for counselling practitioners who want to provide professional and ethical online services, including video counselling, live text-chat and email-style counselling methods.
Cybercounselling Level II (Jan. 10 – April 17)
This three-module course is designed for counselling practitioners who have completed Cybercounselling Level I and want to deepen and refine their cybercounselling expertise.
Foundations of Cybercounselling (Dates to be announced)
Offered in collaboration with the University of Toronto, this eight-week online course covers theories and research in online counselling as well as introduces participants to some of the practical aspects of doing counselling online.
Career Development Professional Essentials (University of Calgary Continuing Education)
This micro-credential offered by UCalgary Continuing Education provides essential knowledge of the career development field of practice. The program consists of two online courses:
Career Development Foundations (Jan. 14): Discuss the major career development foundations that underlie the modern practice of advising.
Ethics for Career Development Professionals (March 11): Review key ethical principles and their consideration in professional conduct and client relationships.
