Canada’s Agriculture Labour Market Forecast to 2030 – Executive Summary Report (CAHRC)

This report finds that labour market shortages in Canadian agriculture – with over 28,000 unfilled jobs in 2022 – amounted to a critical 3.7% sales decline ($3.5 billion). The report anticipates a 15% increase in the domestic labour gap by 2030 and emphasizes collaborative efforts for sustainable solutions.

Inclusion in the Workplace for Racialized Employees (Auditor General of Canada)

This report found that while all organizations it examined had established equity, diversity and inclusion action plans, there was no measurement of or comprehensive reporting on progress against outcomes for racialized employees. As a result, the public service is missing opportunities to identify and implement changes that could yield improved employment experiences for racialized employees.

Work in Progress: How Immigration Can Address Labour Shortages in Residential Construction (The Conference Board of Canada)

Building new homes is essential to addressing housing availability and affordability in Canada. Immigration programs can address current and forecasted labour shortages in the residential construction sector – and help Canada achieve its goals.

Postsecondary educational attainment and labour market outcomes among Indigenous peoples in Canada (Statistics Canada)

Drawing on data from the 2021 census, this report found that just under half (49.2%) of Indigenous adults had completed a post-secondary qualification in 2021. Compared with five years earlier, the share with a bachelor’s degree or higher increased for First Nations people.
