Youth experiencing disabilities who were mentored growing up reported positive outcomes related to mental health, education and employment in greater proportion than their peers who were not mentored.
Highly Educated Newcomers in Canada (Scotiabank)
A comprehensive approach to addressing Canada’s labour shortage should not only focus on increasing immigration, but also maximizing the potential of those already in the labour force. Whereas two-thirds of newly arrived immigrants hold university degrees, only about 40% work in jobs requiring them versus 60% of Canadian-born peers.
2022 State of the Sector – Policy Report (Ontario Nonprofit Network)
This survey of Ontario non-profit organizations found 74% of organizations reported an increase in demand for services in 2022, a significant jump from 2021. Eighty-three per cent of organizations saw an increase in their costs compared to only 64% in 2021.
