CareerWise is always on the lookout for the latest reports related to career development. Here are three reports that we found interesting this week.

Ontario Learning During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Experiences of Ontario First-year Postsecondary Students in 2020–21 (HEQCO)

This study of students who graduated high school in spring 2020 and entered post-secondary in the fall reveals respondents encountered a range of new and magnified challenges to their learning and well-being. The report finds the move to remote classrooms caused constrained academic integration, fewer opportunities for engagement and low rates of satisfaction.

Addressing the Underutilization of Internationally Educated Health Professionals in Canada: What the Data Does and Doesn’t Tell Us (World Education Service)

Internationally educated health professionals (IEHPs) play a vital role in Canada’s health-care system, yet nearly half (47%) are either unemployed or underemployed. This policy brief can help researchers and policymakers understand the extent of skill underutilization of IEHPs, the scope and the limitations of existing data, and where improvements can be most impactful.

Developing Indicators for Skill Demand (LMIC)

This report outlines the most common sources for obtaining information on the skills requirements of jobs. It then explores how this information could be leveraged to create measures, or indicators, of skill demand.
